A cheerful greeting to thee who scrolls our gallery of text
Regularly scheduled programing:
The song of the day was Viva las Vengeance by PANIC! At The Disco (YAY)
The lowest gas price today was 5 something (sorry we didn’t do a good job keeping track)
We’re middle children. We have bigger issues to worry about.)
The highest gas price today was a tragic 7.39 (Driving? In this economy?)
Aggressive sings of the day:
TRUCKS OK
ROAD WORK AHEAD (it lies)
We apologize that these have gotten less entertaining, the west coast’s sign game is lacking...
WE SLEPT IN THIS MORNING!! We got up around 9 this morning, and then proceeded to lay in bed and do nothing until close to 10:30 (probably, I didn’t check the time so this is an estimate)
Super superbly delightful Nichole was wonderful to us, she made us toast and gave us tea (Tim was not present because he had COURT, but that is okay because he was awesome the night before. He helped us move all of our stuff inside and also let us park in the garage. THANK YOU BOTH!!)
OKAY GUYS Let me be real.
Today was very very much a tourism day
We got to LA (letting you all know now that we mapped from Bakersfield to the FUNKO FLAGSHIP store) and we promptly parked right next to the Funko store, and then proceed to spend close to 2 ½ hours
Just walking around the Funko store.
We also completely disregarded the fact that we had cameras, and only took terrible phone selfies and general photos of everything
THAT STORE IS HUGE Jess said when she was looking it up that there was a comment that said “a shopping experience like never before” and she just brushed it off
But like the comment was totally true
It was amazing
There was a marvel section, a DC section, a Disney section, a specifically Disney princess section,
specifically Disney villains, a horror spot, a Stranger Things section, a giant Jurassic Park section,
a stage prop Game of Thrones, sports, old cartoons and cereal section, exclusive Funko,
make your own Funko, Toy Story, Star Wars, a whole Disney Frozen section, Harry Potter, an anime and manga section, large Little Mermaid props, and a music section.
This is all one store.
Literally insane.
Can you see why we spent about 2 ½ hours there…?
After we both spent an appalling amount of money at the Funko store (we justified the money with the fact that we were buying presents (sometimes)).
We departed for the Chinese theater (mostly because it’s in Iron Man 3 and Jess needed to live out her manic pixie marvel girl dreams)
We got there, it was cool (not really it was super hot)
We found some footprints (足跡)
“I got to see ROBERT DOWNEY JR.’s FEET” (Jess, a fluent english speaker, forgot the word for footprint)
She also stood in the footprint spots and shrieked some
We were satisfied with our experience and departed
BOOSTING down the street,
WE FOUND KERMIT THE FROG’S STAR THING
Yayy :)
There was also a guy wearing, like, a goat mask? - he was being filmed? But ya know, just LA things.
After we did all of that it was 4:30 and alas, we had still not eaten lunch (is anyone surprised?)
We went up to the Griffith Observatory,
We wanted to go in, but it was 5:00 at this point and also you needed a mask to go in and ELENA LEFT HERS IN THE CAR.
Alas.
It was better that we didn’t go in anyways because we hadn’t eaten yet, and we still had to get to Venice beach.
We ate (yay).
We called Alexander (lie, he called us and we socialized for about 20 minutes).
And then we BOOSTED (also a lie we hit some traffic).
BUT
When we did reach Venice Beach
It was awesome
Elena hasn’t been to the ocean in a while
And so she basically just played in the water for an hour
Jess took pictures of Elena playing in the water
It was the best
The water was kind of cold
Also the tide was coming in.
And our shoes...
Well...
RIP.
They are soggy.
Even though we took them off.
Tragedy.
We have reached our location of sleeping.
We are running out of soup.
And our new juice is really sweet.
Michael’s lamp may get us after all…
Tomorrow we drive for Long Beach and VEGAS
VEGAS BABY
Don’t gamble.
It’s bad.
But if you do,
Do it at the cantina.
