Day 21: Swamps and the three week mark :)

Salutations

I will skip straight to the things y'all are actually here to read

The daily announcements! Song of the day: Piano Man by Billy Joel

Lowest as price: 3.32

Highest gas price: 4.19

Agressive signs:

- EXIT NOW - STRIPPERS

- EXIT NOW!

Middle child of the day:

Robert from the musical "Company"

"My parents didn't love me and didn't pay attention to me, so I have an entire musical number dedicated to sining about my inability to have any sort of romantic relationship."

this is the wrong Robert but it's amusing so...

And now for the daily update: JESS WOULDN"T WAKE UP THIS MORNING

It really stressed Elena out

we set our alarms for 7, but then like NO ONE was awake

so we sorta just laid in bed

at 7;30 Elena got stressed and did most of her getting ready things - Jess was still sleeping

Kaitlyn came out to leave for work at 8:22 - Jess was still sleeping

- Please note - Elena tried to wake Jess up 3 times... all of them failed

This was a very stressful time for her

However, Jess did get up and get ready in five minutes (i.e. she didn't get dressed and just shoved all of her things in her bag, she later got dressed in the bathroom of a gas station)

That's okay.

WE WENT TO WALMART

We bought Jess bread

and a tomato

and Jess found Stranger Things pizza

so exciting

WE left the Walmart

What a time

We saw another sign for Buc-ee's

much to the distress of Jess

I'm going slowly because of the Buc-ee's sign - it's distracting

To be fair, they are terrible signs

We were just vibing in the car

when 'Love is an Open Door' came on

naturally

we sang along...

DUET STYLE

We feel the need to point out every boat we see

we do it often

it's good

After a while of driving

we arrived in Florida

We stopped at a rest stop for lunch

it was 3:00...

sorry we can't keep a schedule

we're middle children and we have issues (but you already know that)

All was well with the world

we ate

it was fine

and then Jess went to the bathroom

Elena went to go put things away in the car

And then

There were screaming birds

these small, screaming fluffballs tried to eat my shoe laces, they were just chilling on my sneakers - what do I do with this...
my mom thought they were cockroaches...

So like, they were just chilling

Jess came back and was like "what are you doing?"

Elena goes "I think I became a mother??"

We put the birds back in their nest (we think it got knocked out of the tree by wind) but at least the tiny screaming baby birds were okay and not in the parking lot

Trauma

WELCOME TO FLORIDA

Right after this event

Elena proceeded to choke on water

She is fine, just incapable of drinking water

We also sort of forgot that we needed to get gas because of the birds

and so we went and did that

Can someone PLEASE explain to me why all the people that live near water are

just

OBSESSED with YATCHTS??

like I just don't get it

What's so appealing about owning an expensive small boat?

Anyways

when we actually got around to taking pictures

there was a storm rolling in

We got about 30 minutes in before the lighting started

and by the time we pulled into our Airbnb

IT'S POURING

but only during the time that we needed to get things out of the car

we are soggy

We are going to Miami tomorrow

yay

Now we are sleeping

Carrying around a blanket is useful

use it for warmth, for comfort

or to knock other people on their butts

Linus and his blanket
